Scarebreak

It’s fall!

And fall means cooler weather, ale and scarecrows!!!

This past Thursday had all 3 and it was absolutely great to take a study break from the wonderful world of GI. SHW and I went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the Fest of Ale, tried a pumpkin lager (I don’t even like pumpkin and this was delicious!) and saw some fabulous Scarecrows created by different organizations in the community. Here were some of our favorites!

Witch Doctor – a Prescription for Laughter

Switchgrass and Scarecrows – Drinks in the Garden

Dr. Crow – the future SHW, but not made of chicken wire

50 Shades of Hay – I didn’t read the books, but I still thought this one was hilarious

Merry Gift Wrapper

Sho-crow-aholic

The Recycled Crow – one of my favorites! I LOVE recycling!

I didn’t really understand this one, but I love that it’s an apple tree!

This one was very impressive…it was welded together

The Mad Botanist

Titanic – LOVE IT!

Scarecrows in the Garden go through the rest of October…and if you are in the Atlanta area, I highly recommend you check it out! There were a ton more than pictured here and the selection of ales are fantastic! Next Garden event we are looking forward to – Garden Lights, Holiday Nights!

Time for me to get back to the wonders of the GI tract. Happy Saturday to all of you having fun!

Prom season

Everywhere I look there are prom dresses, fancy up-dos and young men in tuxes. While I am a bit too old for prom these days, I did find myself at a formal at Villa Christina on Friday night. It was fun….a little prom flashback, if you will. Actually, a little too much of a prom flashback considering most of the music was circa 2007. However, the food was delicious, and I had a fabulous date! Not to mention some great pharmacy school friends to make the evening simply wonderful.

Yes, I have my shoes on....I really need to find some shorter friends!

Love him!

My "twin"....we don't see it, but Stan is sure convinced!

Everyone seems to just love our dance moves. Not sure if this is good or bad...

In addition to my own (age appropriate) version of prom this weekend, it was Tiny’s actual prom. Last night was the BTHS prom and all of the ladies looked fabulous! I still can’t believe my sister is old enough to attend senior prom, but I suppose I have no choice by to accept it. High school graduation, however, I still have not come to terms with.

Absolutely beautiful, Tiny, all dressed up!

The girls! Apparently, Tiny and I both need shorter friends.

Date Day

Sunday was date day, and it was a much needed one. With crunch time of the end of the school year upon us, it was great to spend a few hours in the afternoon frolicking in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, just me and SHW. We ended the day with some great dinner at Tin Lizzie’s in Grant Park with some mexican and drinks. It was a perfect way to spend a Sunday, much better than the typical studying — what a luxury Thursday tests have become this block. Enjoy some of the beautiful flower pictures!

In the Orchid house

The Annual Orchid Sale is coming up this week..and I couldn't be more excited

Pink was a favorite color of the day!

SHW checking out the coolest tree I have ever seen...I want to go to the South Pacific just to see more!

More pink!!

Getting up close and personal to the pretty purple flowers.

Happy Monday!

Twist-n-Shout

This weekend was an off weekend. And it was wonderful! I had time to get in some service learning hours, visit SHW’s family at his house, invest in my first pair of skinny jeans and catch up on some much needed sleep. The highlight of the weekend, though, was Friday night girls night at Twist. Interestingly enough, the parent company also owns a restaurant named “Shout“. It was great to spend time with friends, both old and new, while enjoying tapas & wine.

One of our many tables full of lovely ladies!

Sporting yellow with the roomie!

With my favorite study buddy, "the hugger"....studying together has been a good thing, but the standing next to each other is not quite in my favor!

With some of my favorite fellow P2 ladies!
